Us: Our Walter Scott Chard fans know this is one of the classics. Speaking of, this is classic Freedom Hill with even more multi-dimensionality and back-end command. As always, the fruit power and savory mineral threads are here and shine through the mouth-filling, weighty finish.

Team Walter Scott: Our Freedom Hill Chardonnay opens with a captivating bouquet of chamomile blossom, yuzu rind, and wet stone. The palate balances density and elegance, driven by lightning-like acidity that brings remarkable energy. Lemon curd and citrus oil unfold alongside hints of nutmeg and flint, while a subtle chalky texture adds depth. The finish lingers with a briny, sea-breeze minerality, capturing the vibrancy and refinement that define this exceptional vineyard.

96 points Paul Gregutt: "Supple, rich and juicy, this exceptional wine takes full advantage of the strengths of this much-loved and sought-after site. The seamless mix of fruits runs from citrus to apple to green banana, with accents of fresh-picked spring herbs. Half the barrels were new, and frame the long, lingering finish with a lick of caramel. The vivid acids prevail, keeping the wine fresh and lively as it trails gracefully out. Based on how well it showed on second and third day tastings, this will age beautifully for 15 – 20 years."

Racy! Lemon-lime big time. Whereas Freedom Hill produces structured and bold Pinots, its Chardonnay yields delicacy with excellent, persistent minerality.
