95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2020 Parabellum Couleé checks in as 58% Syrah, 21% Grenache, and 21% Mourvèdre, and it's a hidden little gem in the vintage. Ripe red and black fruits, peppery herbs, violets, cedar pencil, and lavender all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a supple, layered, sexy mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a gorgeous, satisfying, layered beauty to enjoy over the coming decade."
Us: Jeb hit the description of this wine out of the park—super-rich in texture and super-easy to love, the new Coulee is screaming right out of the bottle. Note: while it might be crazy to call a wine of its price a great value, when you consider the quality, the fruit sources (Force Majeure's Red Mountain and Walla Walla Estate vineyards), and the winemaking, we'll make the case anyway.
2019 vintage notes
Whether you think of this as a Syrah (it's 76%) or a Syrah-based blend, just think of it as a gorgeous bottle of wine that you're nuts not to check out. What struck me most was the seamless, melty texture and feel which carry you from deep black fruits to savory Syrah accents, from power and depth to brightness and elegance, all with ease. -Marcus
93 points Wine Spectator: "Taut with tension and multilayered, this blend has powerful blackberry, green peppercorn and savory meat flavors that finish with broad-shouldered tannins. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Counoise."
