95 points Decanter Magazine: "This high-elevation vineyard at the southern edge of Eola-Amity Hills faces west. The elevation delivers elegance and refreshing acidity despite the warm, dry year and the result has a pronounced plum and redcurrant fruit with floral notes and a lovely savory quality on the nose. The gorgeous, silky texture has a surfeit of finesse yet no lack of structure, and the overall impression is firm, grippy, and long."
2017 vintage notes
94 points Vinous, Josh Raynolds: "Vibrant red berry, cherry, blood orange and exotic spice aromas show excellent clarity and pick up a floral quality with aeration. Juicy raspberry, bitter cherry, allspice, vanilla and rose pastille flavors show an appealing blend of power and delicacy. Fine-grained tannins build slowly on the extremely long, lively finish, which emphatically repeats the floral and spice notes."
94 points PinotFile: "Spellbinding aromas of red and black raspberry and exotic spices. A charge of delicious dark red cherry and raspberry fruit flavors that show exceptional purity. Mid weight plus in style, with felty tannins balancing the expressive fruit. Very giving, with an uncommonly generous finish. This wine stands out from the pack. Note: I have found Sojourner Vineyard designated Pinot Noir offered by a number of producers to be consistently outstanding so this is a vineyard to hang your hat on."
Oh this is just beautiful! Everything we love in Pinot. Soaring aromas, scrumptious red fruit, floral, and mineral elements weave together to wrap you up in a silky Pinot blanket. It's really hard to have only one glass of and at this price, why try?! - Marcus
Sojeau’s generosity and youthful style is front and center this year: berries and cream, raspberry pastille, crushed rose petals and the clove-studded orange floating in a holiday wassale all wrap around very firm tannins buoyed by zesty acid. This is a powerfully fruited wine whose “day 3” drinking is particularly good. 75 cases made.
