2016 vintage notes
92 points Vinous, Josh Raynolds: Lurid red. Cherry cola, Chambord, Asian spices and a hint of potpourri on the fragrant nose. Sappy red and dark berry and cherry pit flavors show very good depth, and a spicy quality gains strength on the back half. Finishes very long and silky, with sharp delineation, gentle tannic grip and repeating floral and spice notes.
This gem -- the best "Select" yet in my opinion -- from one of the most revered names in Willamette Valley wine, may not be as inexpensive as the others but it's every bit the value. Made from the winery's biodynamically-certified Ribbon Ridge estate fruit, it has all of the elegant complexity and Pinot purity of Brick House's hallmark wines with an added generosity of flavor. Classic Brick House notes of crushed berries, cinnamon, lavender, and sweet earth will mesmerize you. Take it from us.
