We are elated to bring you this special release, celebrating the 30th harvest of Belle Pente, one of Oregon's best and still mostly under-the-radar wineries. Our Belle Pente friends selected their 4 favorite Murto Vineyard barrels from 2014, bottled and stashed them deep in their cellar with the intent to release a Special Reserve in its prime drinking window—10-15 years from harvest. And what incredibly prime drinking it is!

The kind of harmony and resolution that comes solely from bottle-aging, this is wonderfully supple and silky, deftly marrying maturity and vibrancy. Murto's signature profile is all here—delicious dark red fruits and super-attractive spice accents, with age bringing a subtle orange zest note and we'll reiterate, a beautiful texture. If you are/were a fan of Belle Pente's Murto, you must get your 6-pack! If you want prime-drinking Pinot made by one of the Valley's best, the same! 6 bottle limit per customer, please.

Brian and Jill: From Murto's outstanding old vines, planted in 1978, high in the Dundee Hills. Enjoy this sophisticated, fully mature Willamette Pinot now and over the next several years. The high elevation site and an early harvest enabled us to maintain freshness and relatively low alcohol levels, producing a very elegant, complex wine in a very warm vintage.

The 2014 growing season was characterized by warm days and very warm nights; lows were only in the mid 60s rather than the high 50s that we generally experience with our maritime climate. Harvest commenced on the 23rd of September and concluded on October 3rd, the earliest start and finish ever! The grapes were vinified with a small fraction of whole cluster that helped us extend macerations to 18-21 days, and then aged in barrel (50% new French oak) for 18 months.
