A harmoniously balanced, GREAT Walla Walla Cab! Even more welcoming in style and texture than their 2021*, the 2022 is supremely elegant and richly textured—it just "feels" right. Black and red fruits work together for concentration and length, adding accents of dark chocolate, cedar, and graphite. When we say "welcoming" we mean roll out the plush dark red carpet and get ready for Cabernet luxury. 

*The 2021 vintage was Wine Spectator's #17 Wine of the World last year and we think the '22 is a more complete, better Cab! It has not yet been rated by Wine Spectator.

#17 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2024:: "Broad-shouldered in style but rich and detailed, with blackberry and currant flavors accented by black olive, stony mineral and licorice notes that gather tension toward firm tannins. Best from 2025 through 2033."

Don’t mistake Drew Bledsoe for a celebrity sports guy starting a “winery.” Any dummy with a checkbook can do that. What sets Bledsoe apart is that he grew up in Walla Walla; returning to Walla Walla after his career in the NFL was going home. It’s no coincidence that he chose winemaker Josh McDaniels, also a Walla Walla native, to be his winemaker and business partner.

The Bledsoe Family winery imprint in the community began with Doubleback (founded in 2007) and has since expanded in vineyard holdings, brands, and even into the Willamette Valley; he and his winemaking partner Josh McDaniels recently purchased Mimi Casteel’s Hope Well vineyard. You may recall from a previous newsletter that Bledsoe-McDaniels also recently acquired long-time club favorite aMaurice’s Walla Walla estate vineyard.

Life's too short to drink bad wine.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.

We are picky. We like to sell wines that we like to drink. We refer to taste the wines sell over several days; we want to know how a wine will evolve, how it pairs with food.
