Us: White Walnut is a special vineyard. Only two winemakers use its Chardonnay grapes—the proprietor and grower, Chris Mazepink for his White Walnut Estate, and Jim Maresh for Tan Fruit. Chris planted a selection of heritage clones of Chardonnay, farms them the right way, and you'd swear there must be magic involved because the Chards from White Walnut are magical! Aromatic fireworks, such fantastic fruit and buoyancy.

Jim Maresh: Steely, wet forest, green melon, porterweed, candied lemon. Deep and poised. This year's White Walnut is about freshness and vigor over flash. A selection of heritage clones. 

2022 vintage notes

Uniquely perfumed, honeydew melon, patchouli oil, guava and charred lemon.  An exhibition of fruit. Fun to drink and puts on a show with waves of green orchard fruit that seems to endlessly change and unfold. -Jim Maresh

2021 vintage notes

We had to edit the label to represent how this jumps from the glass. White lily, asian pear, passion fruit, lychee. Strikes like lightning with incredible power and concentration. There is so much coiled energy that right now it understandably lacks harmony on the finish due to sheer power. Fascinating genetic material meticulously farmed.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.
