One of the Valley's most cherished vineyards, Temperance Hill’s terroir is one of extremities: high elevation, directly exposed to the cooling Pacific Ocean winds funneled through the Van Duzer Corridor. In Evesham's 2024, the vineyard's trademark savoriness takes a backseat to gorgeous, silken, pure Pinot pleasure. One of our trusted colleagues described it as "a remarkably friendly young Temperance Hill," and we concur. Always one of the winery's standouts, we love the '24 for its immediate charm while know it has a very long life ahead of it.

2023 vintage notes

96 points Decanter: "There's an unmistakable earthen note of crushed chalk, a dead giveaway for Temperance Hill Pinot Noir, and it leaps forward in this stellar bottling from Evesham Wood in the 2023 vintage. Sourced from a two-acre parcel in this higher elevation, Eola-Amity Hills vineyard, cared for by the meticulous and legendary Dai Crisp. Fresh red berries, alpine wild flowers and pine bough with the classic crushed chalk minerality alight the glass. The palate is upright, taut and electric. Cranberries, blood orange and chopped herbs mingle with gleaming salinity and crisp raspberry leaf."

Life's too short to drink bad wine.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.

We are picky. We like to sell wines that we like to drink. We prefer to taste the wines sell over several days; we want to know how a wine will evolve, how it pairs with food.
