Wonderfully concentrated, fine-grained and light on its feet, conveying terrific intensity and inner-mouth energy to its slightly inky black fruit and mint flavors. Finishes very spicy and long, with tannins saturating the entire palate but not showing any dryness. An outstanding young Washington Cabernet for the cellar. 96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 28 months in French oak, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley is slightly more expensive than the Red Wine blend but certainly delivers. It too is saturated purple in color and offers awesome notes of crème de cassis, graphite, wet stone, and chocolate. With perfectly integrated oak, a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel, and high yet ripe, tannin, it's a blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon that's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for two decades."

97 points Wine Advocate: "A wine that I would put up there with the crème de la crème of Washington State Cabernet is the 2012 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Corliss, which is insanely good and does everything right. It is made from 97% Cabernet and 3% Petit Verdot that spent 28 months in 70% new French oak. It’s saturated ruby/purple color is followed by fabulous notes of crème de cassis, toasted spice, chocolate and tobacco leaves. These give way to a full-bodied, seamless and layered 2012 that has fabulous purity and freshness, a big, rich mid-palate and sweet tannin that emerge on the finish, all suggesting it will have a long life. Forget bottles for 4-5 years and drink over the following two decades. Bravo!"

95+ points Stephen Tanzer, Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. High-pitched, vibrant aromas of cassis, blackberry and licorice, with less obvious oak showing today than in the Red Wine blend. Very broad, creamy and dry, boasting terrific verve and grip to its sappy black fruit, violet, licorice, bitter chocolate and mineral flavors. Very densely packed and primary today, with the very firm but noble tannins to support a long and glorious evolution in bottle. Winemaker Andrew Trio told me that he has been working hard to “bring back the aromatic qualities” of these splendid wines during their long élevage, noting that they are racked only three times in total."

Full-bodied, structured and seamless, with building tannin and integrated acidity, give it a few years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 15-20 years."
