When planning a trip to Puglia, one must explore as many Pugliese wines as possible, no? I had tasted some of Li Veli's reds over the years but never the whites—what a mistake. An instant new favorite, this has exactly the trifecta of delightful yellow fruit, salinity, and texture I crave. The winery considers Verdeca the most interesting of the local white grapes, with potential for aging. Let me tell you: no bottles of this will be aged in my house since I'll be too busy opening them and sharing them! -Marcus

From the winery: Askos is the name of our project dedicated to the research, selection and valorization of the local heritage of native varieties. The wines are produced exclusively with grapes coming from particularly favourable areas in which the vine is trained following tradition. The symbol is an askos, a Greek “decanter” dating from the 1st century B.C.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.
