Deep flavor, silky texture, complexity and balance. This IS Grant's winemaking vision—a layered wine of great complexity that is, first and foremost, totally delicious! Gorgeous red fruit intensity for days, fantastic feel.
Grant and Renee: Fresh Rainier cherries and vibrant strawberry form a juicy mid-palette wrapped with layers of tea leaf, citrus rind, and complex spice. Beautifully balanced acid and structure make this wine punch way above its pay grade.
Old Eight Cut, named for a diamond cut dating back to the 1400s using simple tools and few cuts to enhance the natural brilliance of the stone without disguising its true nature.
2019 vintage notes
The 2019 vintage was a return to a classic, cool Willamette Valley growing season. Dodging rain showers, we harvested our collection of vineyards starting in late September and into mid-October. Winemaking was kept to a bare minimum; fermented with native yeast and 25% whole cluster; aged on the lees for 11 months; gently racked to tank and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
2018 vintage notes
The 2018 vintage continued the trend of warm, sun-soaked Oregon vintages. We picked our vineyards in the key window of late September when we felt the balance between elegance and richness intersected. Winemaking was kept to a bare minimum: fermented with native yeast and 40% whole cluster; aged on the lees for 11 months; gently racked to tank and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
