Planted 23 years ago, this site is farmed sustainably without the use of synthetic chemicals or herbicides.

Dry-farmed and deep-rooted, the vines express the intensity of the volcanic soils from which they draw their nutrients and water.

A cool spring and late bud break quickly transitioned to warm weather. Persistent summer heat allowed us to harvest fully ripe fruit on September 17th. Fermented with natural yeast and 25% whole cluster, this gorgeous wine layers dark cherry, candied strawberries and a rich pallate. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes:
Candied cherries and raspberry preserve mix it up with a crazy aroma of…gummy peach rings. Really.  The first sip delivers cherries dusted in cocoa powder with fruit that is present and full, and it carries a beautiful acid streak that is born from this cool vineyard in the northwest corner of the Dundee Hills.

96 points Decanter: "Briny aromatics mix with sweet berries and blood oranges. There is a fullness to this wine, a melange of ripe red berries, tart citrus and tomato leaf herbaceous character close around a core of earth-driven minerals and a precise, focused fruit finish."

Us: Carson Phillips returns for its second vintage and hubba hubba, this is a "get into my glass now!" Pinot noir. The only Hundred Suns wine from the Dundee Hills shows its origins with a totally Dundee-sultriness of deeply inviting dark red fruits. A fabulous mouthful of flavor, and expansive finish, all of it silky and charming throughout.
