Us: Like its Chardonnay partner Anne, the best vintage of Ruth to our tastes—and we've tasted them all. It seems only natural when it begins with our two favorite Walter Scott Pinot Noir vineyards, Sojeau and Temperance Hill. Then it adds even more highlights with the amazing X Novo and Koosah, plus Sojeau's higher-elevation neighbor Bracken, one of the most exciting young vineyards in the Valley. And we haven't even gotten to the taste yet! A bountiful generosity of pure Pinot fruit, and ideal tug between bright energy and deep gravitas. Dive in scrumptious!

Team Walter Scott: Elegance and polish. Generous red fruit layered with floral and mineral depth balance the power. Multiple Pinot clones and old vines demonstrate a refined purity associated with the Eola-Amity Hills.

When we began Walter Scott, we launched the winery with our savings and a few small loans from our family. One of those loans came from Erica's mother, Elizabeth Anne McKinnon, the avid trout fisherwoman above. People thought we were crazy to start a winery with virtually nothing, but lucky for us Erica’s mom believed in our dream too.

In 2012, our wonderful friends, Sue and Andy Steinman, became our partners in Walter Scott. With Sue and Andy’s help, we were able to continue to grow our little winery to something we are really proud of today. Cuvée Ruth is named after Sue's mother Ruth and is Cuvée Ruth is to the memory of Ruth and her husband Irv Kantor, a tribute to Sue & Andy for helping us to realize our dreams.

We chose the names Cuvée Anne and Cuvée Ruth as tributes to our two moms. These special cuvée's remind us we are able to do what we love because of the love and support of the people who believe in us.

You'll receive order confirmation and we'll cellar the wines for you at no charge.

Add to your case whenever you see wines you can't resist. Each time you add to your Build a Case® order you'll be charged the discounted price.

When you complete your case, we'll apply a shipping rate and contact you to schedule your case for shipment.

Because of finite space in our warehouse, we kindly ask that you complete your Build a Case® order within six months. Please email or call us with any questions.

Our Wine Advice

Life's too short to drink bad wine.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.

We are picky. We like to sell wines that we like to drink. We refer to taste the wines sell over several days; we want to know how a wine will evolve, how it pairs with food. We want to know if it truly belongs in your cellar, in your glass, and we want to provide you with guidance on how and when it'll be its best.

Our goal is to describe wines in ways that you can actually relate to. We battle against overly flowery tasting notes. You know the kind. The ones that mention things that no one has ever smelled or tasted. They're mostly B.S. and they perpetuate snobbery that we don't like.
