A brand new release from the storied 2021 vintage?! Yes indeed! From the uber-under-the-radar producer Shiba Wichern comes this outstanding Eola-Amity Hills Pinot. What we love about 2021s is apparent–there’s beautiful fruit, matched with Shiba Wichern’s more delicate winemaking style to create a texturally rich, super supple-bodied swooner. What comes across as initially lithe and elegant builds depth and intensity through the long (long) finish. We love it!

For our long (long) time followers, you might not recognize Nuestro Sueño by name but you may recall the Whistling Dog Pinot Noirs we offered many years ago, which was the estate label of the vineyard.

Winemaker and co-owner Akiko Shiba received her engineering degree in Enology and Viticulture from the University of Geisenheim in 2009. Akiko's practical experience is split between the vineyard and cellar as well as between Germany and Oregon. Amongst the wineries where Akiko has gained her practical experience are in Oregon: Evesham Wood, St. Innocent, Ayres and Domaine Serene. In Germany: Franz Keller, Schamari-Muehle, Heyl zu Herrnsheim, Chat Sauvage and Rudolph Fuerst.

Before her career change to the wine industry Akiko graduated from the prestigious Keio University and worked in Tokyo as an editor and journalist in the food and drink sector.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.
