Whenever I open a new Barbaresco, I always plan to drink it over several days. It's young Nebbiolo, after all. Yesterday I changed that plan because this wine just wouldn't let me stop pouring glasses, right to the end of the bottle!

Elvio Cogno's Barbaresco Bordini 2019 is as expressive, open, and appealing as young Barbaresco gets—the perfect wine to highlight my years-long campaign to encourage you to drink more young Barbaresco (and Barolo). It is graceful and balanced and of course will age should you choose that route instead. Note: I didn't even decant it, and the aromas were wholly enveloping, the palate silky, the finish showing the subtlest of noble Nebbiolo structure. In short, it's delicious and belongs in the hands of fellow Barbaresco fans. I'm adding some to my collection—join me!
