The second vintage of the new Riona's Block is even more wow-worthy than the first—it is from the magnificent 2021 vintage, after all. No matter how many Belle Pente Pinots you've had before, this one will feel unique; the contributions from the soil, the whole clusters used in fermentation, the splendor of the vintage all combine for layers of delectable intrigue. Outstanding and highly recommended by us.

From Belle Pente: This is the second edition of our newest estate Pinot, a special barrel selection from a section of the vineyard planted in 1999, the year our daughter Riona was born. This block is distinctive due to a vein of volcanic ash embedded in the sandstone formation beneath the vineyard, imparting a distinct spicy character that is unique to this part of the property. The wine is made with a slightly heavier dose of whole cluster than we typically employ, and was raised in 50% new Burgundian oak barrels just like our Estate Reserve. Accessible now, it will really shine with a few years in the cellar.

We taste as much or more Oregon wine in a given year than anyone on the planet. We look for the needles in the haystacks, the wines you won't find in your local wine store. Wineries have long sought our help to sell their most limited, unique bottlings.

We are picky. We like to sell wines that we like to drink. We refer to taste the wines sell over several days; we want to know how a wine will evolve, how it pairs with food.
