2015 vintage notes
A rich expression of Walter Scott Pinot noir, the 2015 shows lush aromas of mixed red fruits and Asian spices. Beaming with red berries and cherries, with a particularly lovely wild strawberry ribbon throughout, this displays both power and precision. - Marcus
2014 vintage notes
94 points Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Clos des Oiseaux Pinot Noir is back! back!! back!!! - after being blended into the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir in 2013. It has a clean and pure bouquet with cranberry, Morello and minerals that is very precise. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, extremely focused and minerally with great sustain on the finish. This is a killer Pinot Noir from Walter Scott, surfeit with breeding, complexity and just plain deliciousness. Intuition tells me this is going to be an absolute joy after 5-6 years in bottle."
"I just like how Ken and Erica roll - nothing fancy, no blockbuster or pretentiousness - just killer Pinot Noir with purity, intensity and personality. That leaves me to say if you have not tried these wines yet, do yourself a favor."
Forward and positively rocking, offering lush red fruit, from cherry to strawberry and sweet raspberry, accented by Asian spices. Clos des Oiseaux (pronounced wah-ZOH) is farmed by Ken and Erica.
Clos des Oiseaux sits on the east ridge of the Eola-Amity hills overlooking the Cascade Mountains. The vineyard has a river of thin soil running through the middle with deep clay on either side. The combination of soils results in diverse flavors.
