We’ve featured multiple vintages of Trust’s Syrah in the Big Reds Club, but never the Cabernet. Well, voila! The 2015 hit the right notes, showcasing a great dark/bright mix of black and red fruits, cedar and tobacco, and mellow oak spice accents. The wine shows a creaminess while also having buoyancy to it. As is typical for Trust, it’s a solid value that’s as fun to drink now as it is to tuck away for a few years.
Winemaker/owner Steve Brooks left his well-paying job in Atlanta, moved his family to Walla Walla, and learned to make wine. As such, the name of winery, Trust, came somewhat easily. While simple, it has profound meaning for him: “To change, to shift. To make an about-face. To move from a lifestyle rooted in technology and speed to an existence focusing on soil and sun. Taking a giant step requires trust. The trust of your family and friends...and the trust in yourself.”
