97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Up-front crème de cassis, lavender, mountain scrub brush, tobacco, and ample gravelly minerality all define the bouquet, and it's rich, medium to full-bodied, and thrillingly textured on the palate. It's a stunning bottle of wine that has the class to drink nicely today yet will evolve for 20 years or more."
This Walla Walla producer has taken a huge couple step forwards: they hired the rockstar wife-husband duo of Carrie and Todd Alexander, the same team responsible for the incredible wines coming from Force Majeure. Todd is a Cabernet whisperer, having cut his teeth at Napa's Bryant Family and now applying his mastery to Washington Cabernet. What's so impressive about his wines–especially his Cabs–is the refinement. It's easy to get big Washington fruit but taming it, making it into a velvety masterpiece, that's where Todd thrives. I found this utterly engaging already and see no reason not to dive in with a little decant, but expect even more magic to happen with a few years of cellaring. - Marcus
