94 points Wine Spectator: "Macerated cherry and raspberry fruit gets plenty of company from the eucalyptus, tar and tobacco notes in this taut, racy red. It tightens up on the finish, with terrific balance overall. Best from 2023 through 2045."
This hits my Barolo "sweet spot," with the perfect combination of old-school elegance and structure meeting a hypnotically attractive, deeply spiced, surprisingly drinkable (now, despite what Spectator's note says), layered beauty. I want a glass of this on my desk to smell all day. An absolutely rocking wine, stacked with red fruits up front, quietly building the most flavorful, chewy, sweet tannins, weaving in a menthol-minty lift and helping the deliciousness to echo forever (seriously, I fell behind tasting because the finish wouldn't quit...and I didn't want it to!). Recommended without reservation. - Marcus
