Tasting note from 2019: Velvety smooth, decidedly red-fruited, with the subtle caramel ribbon that emerges with age from Owen Roe’s best wines, this is beginning to spread its wings and soar. A regal and stately Cabernet, it is commanding enough to be served on its own and versatile enough to be paired with...damn near everything.
Our original note upon release: Sumptuous and silky textured, structured layers of blackberry and cassis explode in the mouth. Black licorice, bittersweet cocoa, dried flowers, and a hint of eucalyptus adding depth and weight. A 30+ second finish of red plum and cherry, blackberry jam, and smoke adds to its power and breadth. A gorgeous wine, though a bit tightly wound, decant if drinking now. We suggest cellaring for 2-3 years before drinking, and holding for up to 15.
