Owen Roe Eola-Amity Hills Pinot noir 2013
The most distinct of the new Owen Roe Pinots is also our favorite. The nose is delightfully purple - crushed purple berries and flowers - that leads into a beautifully balanced array of dark raspberry and blackberry, with great weight and juiciness. The finish is lively, adding lip-smacking black cherry. From 100% Sojourner Vineyard fruit.
The mouthwatering aromas of chocolate-covered cherries, cigar box and tobacco are nicely structured with layers of raspberry compote, cherry, rhubarb pie and mocha. The finish is full and voluptuous with flavors of cocoa powder and lush tannins. - David O'Reilly
