94 points Wine Spectator: "Broad, with a glassy texture underneath a sprinkling of powdery tannins. A beam of black plum, blackberry, meaty and floral flavors extends into a long finish. Drink now through 2023."
From dentist to winemaker, Jon Meuret made a stop along his trip to visit Chateneuf-du-Pape, the heartland of Rhone wines. Inspired, he came back to the US and started his Maison Bleue Family Winery in Washington's Yakima Valley, where he is becoming famous for his Rhone-inspired reds at very reasonable prices.
Maison Bleue owner and winemaker Jon Meuret first made wine in the Kansas City area, helping a friend start Amigoni Vineyards, a vineyard and winery dedicated to the growing and production of vinifera varieties. It was during this time that Jon decided to make the transition from dentist to full-time vigneron. He has completed numerous viticulture and enology courses through Missouri State, U.C. Davis and Virginia Tech University. He is also a graduate of the Washington State University Professional Enology Certificate Program.
