It knocks it out of the park with its dark, savory, mineral-laced fruit and is full-bodied, deep, rich and concentrated on the palate. This beautiful wine has building structure and ripe tannin, and it’s going to have two decades or more of longevity."

94 points Wine Advocate: "Another head turner from this estate is the inky colored 2013 Ferguson, which comes from their newest estate vineyard. Made from 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and the rest Malbec, it spent 22 months in 50% new French oak before bottling. Rich, structured, tannic and full-bodied, and needing to be hidden in the cellaring for 4-5 years, it offers beautiful minerality in its dark fruits, spice-box, dried herbs, and dried earth aromas and flavors. I consistently find this cuvee at the top of the lineup, and it’s no exception in 2013. It will have two decades of longevity."

95 points Wine Advocate: "My favorite in the lineup was the spectacular 2012 Ferguson Reserve, a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 6% Malbec in 2012, and comes all from basalt soils in the southern part of the appellation. Aged 22 months in 50% new French oak, it offers layers of cassis, currants, lead pencil shavings, toasted bread and spice that flow to a full-bodied, multi-dimensional and concentrated 2012 that has stunning purity of fruit. Like the other two single-vineyard releases, this shows more and more structure with time in the glass, so short-term cellaring is advised. It’s another terrific wine from this team that will have 20-25 years of longevity."- Jeb Dunnuck
