This is deserving of its own feature because of how crazy good it is but alas, production of the 2018 was equally crazy small so we have to bury it further down the list. The 2017 was Wine Spectator's highest rated wine of the vintage--is this as good? No, it's better. So super silky and rounded, surprisingly pretty for how powerfully rich and decadent it is, finishing with a featherweight punch. 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Syrah. Don't snooze on this. -Marcus
2017 vintage notes
95 Points Wine Spectator: “Impressive for its structure and polish, a wine that seamlessly marries Cabernet and Syrah while retaining the best of both, with blackberry, black olive, smoky cured meat and lots of cracked pepper flavors. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Drink now through 2030.”
