Joleté La Verre Cuvee Willamette Valley Pinot noir 2014
La Verre is French for “the glass,” as in, you’ll want some of this in your glass. We were pleasantly surprised by this new value, as it wafted from the glass with spicy red fruits on the nose, then strawberry and red currant flavors that are smooth and easy going. Plum and cola notes pick up and carry the finish.
Joleté is a side-project of Aubichon Cellars and Le Cadeau Vineyard. Naturally, they are made by Aubichon winemaker Jim Sanders, who sharpened his winemaking craft at Beaux Freres many moons ago.
93 points James Suckling!
