2015 vintage notes
94 points Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Durant Vineyard is pale to medium ruby in color with a very pretty nose of rose petals, violet and spice over a core of dried cherries and cranberries plus earthy notions of fresh tobacco, underbrush and autumn leaves. Light to medium-bodied, it's packed with juicy red fruits flavors, spice and floral perfume, with a great frame of grainy tannins and freshness to lift all that flavor, finishing very, very long. 216 cases produced."
2012 vintage notes
One old vine vineyard that Marcus Goodfellow is especially thankful to source from is Durant. A superb site in the Dundee Hills, it was planted in 1973 and 1993. A stone's throw from the original Eyrie Vineyard, below White Rose, and adjacent to Domaine Drouhin and Archery Summit (not too shabby a neighborhood). Expressive bright cherry perfume, dried rose, and almond cream notes play in harmony with a deeper, darker bottom end. Energetic red fruit and savory ribbons pulse through the finish. Beautiful acidity, tons of dry extract - this wine should age a decade with ease. Goodfellow likens it to a Jaguar E-Type convertible: lithe, powerful, sleek, rich, and gone in the blink of an eye. Decant if you're drinking now. A September Reserve Pinot Noir Club selection. - Marcus
