2013 vintage notes
The 2013 Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir is a vibrant ruby red color and possesses a very floral bouquet of roses and sweet purple violets as well as notes of ripe fruits on the nose like cherries, ripe strawberries and even red candies. A dark earthy note of mushrooms, oak spice, cola and sandalwood as well as citrus oils make this wine extremely intriguing now and promise great things as it develops with age. In the mouth it is bright and medium bodied with a tight tannic grip which opens up and melts away with aeration or decantation but still exudes lovely sweet fruit. This wine has succulent acidity and a long finish but remains tight now and will age well but is a very pleasant and easy drinking wine representative of the warm vintage. Needs 1-2 years to open up and develop then should drink well for 5-10 years. - the winery

The most opulent of the new 2012 Bergstrom releases, Gregory Ranch is also the most complete wine. At once lush and bright, it's hugely impressive. Opening with aromas of a summer berry pie a la mode, then gushing with blackberry and black cherry before finishing with cinnamon and anise. This is going to wow you. - Marcus
2011 vintage notes
Dark fruit aromas of black cherry, blackberry and blueberry as well as wild dried mushroom, cinnamon, tobacco and meat notes. Sweet baking spices, characteristic of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, are also present, lending sweetness and lush textures.

2010 vintage notes
Gregory Ranch is Bergstrom's newest addition to their collection of single vineyard Pinots. Wow! We all loved the sexy aromas. Wild, creamy blackberries, morel mushrooms, hints of dried herbs and spices. Seamless and silky, Gregory Ranch can be opened and enjoyed now but will be better with 2-3 years of age.
Wine Advocate 94 points: Licorice, horehound, clove, spruce resin and cassis inform the 2010 Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch Vineyard which represents the first crop from a solitary field blend of clones and selections on a magnificently steep 700-foot sandstone hillside in the rugged northwest Willamette Valley foothills of the Coastal Range which I unexpectedly visited and marveled at before I found out whose it was. And the taste is every bit as marvelous as the site! If its Temperance Hill counterpart acted as though some Riesling or Viognier had been blended-in, here it's as though there were a dosage of Scheurebe contributing vivid pink grapefruit rind and distilled herbal high tones. Hints of iodine and stone add further intrigue while an impression of roasting pan drippings activates the salivary glands. This dense, finely tannic Pinot brings a striking combination of richness, energy, and depth to its long, mouthwateringly savory finish, and should be worth following for at least a dozen years.
