Mo talks a big Chardonnay game and he is right to! This is his most complete Chardonnay yet. Tons of energy to go with the richness, evident immediately by the beautifully balanced aromas honey-drizzled brioche dusted with lemon zest. Layers of fruit -- first pear, then yellow and orange citrus -- come on strong. Everything is wound together by threads of fresh acidity and minerals. Undeniably engaging right now, this will also age gracefully for up to a decade. Very often highly rated...after it is long sold out. Don't procrastinate! - Marcus
2016 vintage notes
94 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant and refined, with floral tangerine and quince aromas and polished, elegantly layered pear and wet stone flavors that glide along the finish. Drink now through 2020."
2013 vintage notes
94 points Wine Spectator: "Broad, open-textured and layered, with pear, grapefruit, quince and spice flavors that just don't quit as the tangy finish sails on. Has depth and distinctiveness. Drink now through 2021. 225 cases made."
Mo's 2013 Chardonnay more closely resembles his 2010: rich and racy, filled with lemon custard goodness. We grabbed one of the last cases and as such, this is very limited.
2012 vintage notes
Mo created another winner with his 2012 Chardonnay, adding an extra dimension of weight and richness. Like all of his 2012s, it is very limited in supply and highly recommended.
"The 2012 Ayoub Chardonnay features a beautifully complex nose of Bosc pear, lemon zest, baked apple, orange blossom and wet slate. On the palate, the wine is all about balance and thrilling complex flavors from start to finish. It has a medley of lemon meringue, almond, pie crust, honey comb which is highlighted by bright juicy acidity and flinty minerality. The mouthwatering finish lingers endlessly." - Mo
