2017 vintage notes
92 points Wine Enthusiast, Editors' Choice: "This is the inaugural release of this entry-level offering from the winery. The aromas pop, with notes of raspberry, black pepper, blueberry, herb and braised meat. A textured, flavorful palate follows, bringing a sense of freshness. It's an outrageous value."
Avennia has established itself as one of Washington's rising stars in a mere handful of years, to the point where they're just stars. So to have them release an absolutely dynamite delicious Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre for less than $20 has us feeling the sense of urgency. As in: buy by the case and we'll bet you'll want even more when you try it. Fully concurring with the review above, it's an outrageous value.
Lydian is a new way to experience Washington wine, guided by Avennia's dedication to quality and balance. In music, Lydian refers to a mode, or scale that is used as a building block for some of the world’s oldest and newest masterpieces. This happy sounding mode brings joy on its own, yet when molded and crafted by talented musicians can become a work of timeless art.
