In our recent tasting of Cadence 2016s, Camerata was the clear standout, an absolutely brilliant Cabernet which shows the more elegant, less bombastic side of the variety while delivery gobs of richness and density. Mixing red and black fruits with tons of savory cedar, tobacco, and warm-earth mineral notes, we loved how the dusty tannins were sweet, helping the flavor the resonate.
94 points, Top 100 Cellars Selections Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. Distinctive aromas of black cherry, graphite, dark raspberry, fresh herb, flower and scorched earth lead to a fresh, flavorful palate packed with fine-grained structured tannins. An extended finish ups the interest. Give it at least 24 hours to decant if drinking in the near term. Best after 2025."
2013 vintage notes
94 points Wine Advocate: "A significantly different blend from the 2012, which was over 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2013 Camerata checks in as 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, which like the Bel Canto spent 23 months in 50% new French oak. Possessing a fabulous bouquet of black currants, toasted spice, licorice and wild herbs, this full-bodied 2013 is concentrated, incredibly elegant and textured, with ripe tannin and a balanced, layered style that will evolve gracefully. It should be at its best from 2020-2033.
