2014 vintage notes
Part boisterous and part refined, which typifies Haden Fig’s Bjornson vineyard designates. This is our favorite since 2010. Only six barrels (147 cases) produced.
Nestled in heart of the Eola-Amity Hills, the relatively young vines of Pattie and Mark Bjornson’s namesake vineyard are in acclaimed company. And while Bjornson is surrounded by some vines of legend, their grapes are equally regarded, and well deserved. Their meticulously managed, certified sustainable operation tends to be the most fruit-forward of Haden Fig’s fruit sources while capturing every bit of the liveliness found in the Eola-Amity Hills. Reflecting the character of its environment, the 2014 Haden Fig Pinot Noir Bjornson hints of wild berries, subtle earth, and fresh rosemary while delivering great length.
Winemaker and proprietor Erin Nuccio stumbled upon Bjornson during a barrel-tasting at friend’s place in 2009 and ever since, has made it a point to purchase fruit from Mark and Patty for Haden Fig’s Bjornson designate Pinot.
