One thing we’ve always loved about Gun Metal is its approachability; it is typically in full stride when released. This thing hits right out of the gate with impressive intensity and heady aromas of ripe blueberries and mocha. Dense, suave, and sweet black fruit carries through a cool note of licorice, clove, and creamy oak. The tannins help the whole wine persist and and echo, from smell to taste and back.
Jerry and Jennifer continue to make outstanding wines from their Woodinville warehouse winery. Guardian’s first wine is its flagship: Gun Metal. We’ve worked with every vintage, beginning with the 2003, which was produced under the Mark Ryan label (where Jerry was working at the time). Every vintage except for 2011 has been produced exclusively from Conner Lee Vineyard.
