Year-End Cellar Stocking: Wine Spec Top 100, Our Picks

This time of year, it's easy to deplete your stash of wine on hand. Luckily, your friends at Avalon are here to make sure you don't run out!

When wines we taste and love get great reviews, good things happen. Today's trio, including two Wine Spectactor Top 100 Oregon Pinots, is wholeheartedly recommended by us. The Latchkey and Ayoub are down to the last few cases, so don't delay.

$49.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($54.95 regular)
#63 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2017, 94 points: "Silky and harmonious, with an elegantly precise structure and black cherry, fresh violet and spice notes that glide expressively toward the long finish. Drink now through 2022."

Purple Hands' entire line-up of 2015s is superb; the Latchkey Vineyard is the standout, in our opinion. We keep hearing incredible feedback on this wine -- taste for yourself what all the buzz is about. - Marcus

$58.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($64.95 regular)
94 point Wine Spectator: "Expressive and beautifully focused, with refined cherry and loamy mineral aromas and elegantly layered raspberry and tea flavors that persist through polished tannins. Drink now through 2024."

You've heard us praise this absolutely fantastic Pinot. Well, we're down to the last couple cases (that's right, only 2!) so if you're not already lucky enough to have some in the cellar, this is your last chance. We love this wine. - Marcus

$58.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($64.95 regular)
#70 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2017, 94 points: "Lithe and delicately complex, offering rose petal and tart blueberry aromas, with effortlessly balanced raspberry, river rock and spice flavors that finish with refined tannins. Drink now through 2022."

The fruit for this beautiful wine was sourced from a fantastic vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills which cannot be named (hence the wine name). Lingua Franca is one of the outstanding new developments of 2017; we can't wait to taste more from them. - Marcus
