Wines For Your Weekend Enjoyment: March Hits

Happy weekend from Marcus and Andy,

Wow, there were a lot of hits in March! We deeply appreciate your support and trust in our tastes and recommendations.

As always, we trust you have great wines lined up for the weekend and in case you need any inspiration or provisions for future weekends, here are a half dozen standouts from the month. Cheers to you!

Goodfellow Family Cellars Heritage #4 Pinot noir 2015
$59.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($65.95 regular)
Unquestionably in our top 5 Oregon Pinots of the 2015 vintage. Captivating, alluring, stunning. Conveying Pinot noir's paradoxes of rich density without weight, of sweetness and ineffable savoriness, this complex and dynamic young wine pulses with a beautiful heart of red fruits, joined by flourishes of spice, herb, floral, orange and so much more. A joy to sip now, especially if opened and savored over the course of a few hours, it will enjoy a very long life in the cellar should you choose to wait 5, 10, or 15 years. - Marcus & Andy

Gulfi Nerojbleo 2013
$18.85 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($20.95 regular)
94 points Vinous, Incredible value alert: "Perfumed and juicy, offering sweet candied blueberry pie, sweet spices and faded flowers on the nose and in the mouth. Very smooth texture and clean, ripe flavors have pretty floral lift and vibrancy. A knockout NeroJbleo, one of the best in years, in fact." Packed with flavor, superbly silky and balanced, certified organic, pop-and-pour Sicilian goodness like this doesn't come around often enough. Grab it when it does!

Eyrie Daphne Pinot noir 2014
$67.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($74.95 regular)
An ultra-collectible bottle of Pinot noir, from one of the oldest and highest elevation sites in the Willamette Valley. A tightly wound core of energy, Daphne's brilliance radiates outward with sweet rose and herb-accented red fruits, spices, and minerals. Sparkling with verve and vivacity, it lights the room like a small ruby star. Best from 2023 on. - Marcus

Casa Emma Chianti Classico 2015
$17.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($19.95 regular)
91 points, Smart Buy Wine Spectator: "This is pure and expressive, offering black cherry, raspberry, leather and mineral flavors. Shows balance and depth, suggesting a fine evolution ahead. Excellent length." Also loved by us!

Evesham Wood Mahonia Pinot noir 2015
$32.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($35.95 regular)
96 points PinotFile: "Oh, my God!" aromas of fresh cherry, exotic spices including clove and allspice, fertile earth and a hint of gingerbread. The flat-out delicious red cherry core is in sync with a lovely Wassail spice accent. Seamlessly composed in a mid weight style, with welcome vibrancy and a lasting echo of scent and fruit on the finish. I especially liked this wine for its uniqueness. A wine-gasm that is a must for Pinot lovers."

Betz Pere de Famille Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$76.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($84.95 regular)
93-96 points Wine Advocate: "...a head turner offering a detailed, mineral-laced, full-bodied, fresh and elegant style that doesn't lack for oomph or structure. It has classic notes of cassis, smoked tobacco and graphite, with nicely integrated acidity and a great, great finish." One of the reference point Washington Cabernets, and one of the classiest you'll find.

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Have a great weekend!
