Two Tuscan treats for you today, recently tasted and doubly endorsed by Wine Spectator and by us!
A superb value from Casa Emma and Brunello royalty from Lisini, there's something delicious for any Italian wine fan.
Casa Emma Chianti Classico 2015
$17.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
91 points Wine Spectator, Smart Buy: "This is pure and expressive, offering black cherry, raspberry, leather and mineral flavors. Shows balance and depth, suggesting a fine evolution ahead. Excellent length. Best from 2019 through 2029."
Our review: You can call it smart but I'd go one step further and call it a no-brainer -- this is a fantastic value that I found to be very drinkable already, with the goods to age for 5-10 years. The dark cherry goodness and Tuscan beauty is hard to resist. Yum! - Marcus
Lisini Brunello di Montalcino 2012
$49.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
94 points Wine Spectator: "This is round, exuding black cherry and blackberry flavors, allied to a pliable profile. The acidity and tannins emerge on the finish, where everything falls into place. Fine freshness, tobacco and mineral details emerge in the end. Best from 2020 through 2033."
Our review: Lisini is Brunello royalty. One of the first five Montalcino producers, Lisini's southern Montalcino estate produced a gorgeous wine in 2012, expertly capturing the elegant power of top tier Brunello. We tasted this an hour ago and it left us in awe. Highly recommended from both of us! - Marcus and Andy
