Top 100 Oregon Value Pinot: Colene Clemens

Wine Spectator's Top 100 hit yesterday, delivering an early Thanksgiving for great value Pinot noir. Colene Clemens, no strangers to the Top 100 or to great reviews, nabbed the #42 spot with their Dopp Creek Pinot noir 2014. We already knew it was super tasty and sent it to our wine club in March!

Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot noir 2014
$23.35 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($25.95 regular)
#42 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2017, 91 points: "Firm and focused, with cinnamon notes floating around red berry and floral flavors, finishing with gentle persistence against lively acidity and fine tannins."
Winemaker Steve Goff's Pinots are semi-regular selections for our clubs. We've followed Steve since he was assistant winemaker at Beaux Freres (from 2001 through 2008). He's an incredibly laid-back, nice guy and I swear you can taste it in his Pinot noirs. (Goff's 2014 Shea Vineyard has been one of the most popular Pinots of the year, with its own 94-point Spectator rating.)
Originally conceived of as a second label for Colene Clemens, Dopp Creek has now joined the family as Colene Clemens' Willamette Valley blend. Conveying the house style and reflective of the area where it's grown, Dopp Creek is rich with dark berry fruit, aided by delectable spice accents.
We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support!
