Top 100, Big New Scores from Oregon, Italy, Washington

Happy Saturday wine friends,
It was a big week for our three most popular wine regions, with huge Top 100 inclusions from Wine Enthusiast (#s 8 and 21!) and rocking reviews from Vinous

Beginning in Oregon with the stellar Bryce Vineyard bottling from Ken Wright, transitioning to Northern Italy with Barbaresco and Barolo, finishing up in Washington with one of our favorite new producers, Kevin White.

Ken Wright Bryce Vineyard Pinot noir 2014
$53.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($59.95 regular)
96 points #8 in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Cellar Selections 2017: "This riveting wine displays the exceptional finesse and precision that fruit from this AVA can deliver. Its Pinot noir expressed in the most subtle and demanding way. Beautifully orchestrated red fruits, sappy acids, lush spices, perfect balance and an immaculate mineral-soaked finish are all on display."

La Ca' Nova Barbaresco Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina 2014
$35.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($39.95 regular)
96 points Vinous, Antonio Galloni: "A classic, old-school, the 2014 Barbaresco Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina is focused and very tightly wound, and yet the wine pulses with captivating energy. Chalk, white pepper, mint, cranberry and sweet tobacco give the wine brightness, but, as is often the case with Montefico Barbarescos, the 2014 is really a wine of texture above all else. Next to the Montestefano, the Montefico is a bit more translucent and energetic in style, which is the personality of this site embodied. I loved it." Limited.

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia 2013
$49.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($54.95 regular)
97 points, #21 in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Cellar Selections 2017: "Rose, iris, wild berry and baking spice aromas merge with scents of new leather and a balsamic menthol note on this stunning and classically crafted Barolo. The structured, polished palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, pipe tobacco and licorice framed in tightly knit noble tannins and bright acidity. It's going to just keep getting better and better over the next few decades. Drink from 2023 through 2053."
Kevin White En Hommage Syrah 2015
$26.05 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($28.95 regular)
92 points Vinous, Stephen Tanzer: "Spicy, floral lift to the aromas of crunchy red berries, black pepper, licorice and minerals. Like La Fraternité, this wine also boasts lovely inner-palate energy for the vintage, with its intense blueberry and spice flavors enlivened by a pungent note of orange peel. The slowly mounting, ripely tannic finish suggests that this wine will evolve gracefully. This wine and La Fraternité deliver a lot of flavor interest for their gentle price tags."

Kevin White La Fraternite 2015
$26.05 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($28.95 regular)
91 points Vinous, Stephen Tanzer: "Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, spices and flint are complicated by a smoked meat note from the Syrah component. Surprisingly zingy on the palate, with its raspberry and black pepper qualities enlivened by pungent notes of pomegranate, cranberry and orange peel. This fine-grained wine offers a captivating restrained sweetness and finishes with smooth tannins and noteworthy energy. A remarkably fresh wine from a very ripe, early year."
Kevin White is a rising star of Washington wine and this Chateauneuf du Pape-esque blend demonstrates why. Superbly balanced, highlighting pure fruit and finesse, it cascades with red summer berries alongside violets and grilled herbs. Highly versatile on the dinner table, I'd go anywhere from grilled salmon to ratatouille, to duck or lamb. 60% Grenache, 33% Mourvedre, and 7% Syrah. - Marcus

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support and have a great weekend!
