Within all of Willamette Valley Pinot, Evesham Wood is the superhero of underdogs. We are talking red cape-wearing, reversing the earth on its rotational axis superhero. The underdog part is that, headscratchingly, Evesham continues to be an unsung hero in the world of Pinot noir. Not one single Willamette Valley winery can match its breadth of value: three decades of amazing wines and yet not a single one, ever, above $55.
And now for more of Evesham's unmatched superpowers: there's a new Evesham super-value...DUNDEE HILLS! Pinot noir, something we never thought we'd see. And La Grive Bleue, the poster-wine of them all. We cannot possibly say this loudly enough: GET THESE PINOTS!

I'm not quite sure where to begin with this wine. After all, how many times in our lives do we get to make something hypothetical, real? But I know where to end: buy it! A jaw-dropping bargain even within the Evesham Wood stable of incredible bargains.
This wine has been "made" in conversations with customers over the years, where I'll be asked if I could create an ultimate wine that hasn't been made, what would be the factors. Taking Evesham Wood, my favorite Oregon winery deeply rooted in the Eola-Amity Hills, and matching it with my other favorite growing area, the Dundee Hills, was always at the top of any hypothetical scenario.
Over a year ago, when I was visiting Evesham and barrel tasting with Erin, there were a bunch of barrels filled with prime Dundee Hills fruit (I know from which vineyard and suffice it to say, it's prime). We tasted them--an awesome new expression of Evesham Pinot--and remarked, "you really should make a Dundee Hills!" And here we are a year later, with something I never thought I'd see on a label or in a bottle: Evesham Wood Dundee Hills Pinot noir 2018.
$26.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($29.95 regular)
If Evesham is the superhero of underdogs,
La Grive Bleue is the poster-wine: always, always one of our favorite Pinots in a vintage but rarely acknowledged for being such an outsized, phenomenal Pinot for the price. Move over all you Marvel spin-offs, there's a real superhero flying high out of the Eola-Amity Hills!
La Grive Bleue 2018 is a touch bolder in fruit and structure while still wearing a cape of silk, delivering the classic Evesham mix of cherries, a pinch of dark berries, rosemary and sage accents, so wonderfully combining sweet and savory.
La Grive Bleue is the northern block of Evesham Wood's estate, simply across the driveway from Le Puits Sec and like it, certified organic and over 20 years old. Always tiny in production, it leaves Oregon only by way of a FedEx or UPS truck, so let us help secure your stash.
