Stop What You're Doing: Last Call for Ayoub Estate '18

Despite our original offer landing right before the holidays, we had an incredible response. Thank you! Actually, the response was so good that we have to "last call" the Ayoub Estate Pinot noir 2018. If you buy only one Ayoub wine, make it the Estate but as you'll read, we really think you should try them all! As such:

Stop what you're doing. The 2018 Ayoub Pinots command it. I cannot recommend highly enough that you buy them.

We never, ever accept tasting appointments in December; we’re far too busy with holiday-related activities. I'm grateful I stopped what I was doing long enough to taste with Mo Ayoub. Almost a month after tasting his 2018s I’m still mesmerized and genuinely pumped—from top to bottom, it is his strongest set of wines yet. Every wine shows the complete brilliance of 2018. They are insanely great, impossible to resist now and will last 10-15 years if you choose. That's Ayoub, and that's 2018.

All the Ayoub '18s are palate saturating in a way that will make everyone, anyone happy. After tasting them all I said to Mo, "people are going to go nuts over these when they taste them!" He replied, "they already are."

The aromas are already booming—fruit, floral, and fresh cream. Within the Ayoub line-up, immediately I noticed the enhanced texture of the Estate, the breadth and silky wonder. There's so much material in this wine, so much to give already that it's a guilty pleasure to drink now and yet, this is going to last forever. The generosity of fruit, savory, and mineral elements is matched by the balance and completeness. A forever-finish that's so comforting and thoughtfully complex. If you buy only one Ayoub wine, make it this.

For fear of sounding like a broken record, it is easily his best Memoirs yet. It perfectly displays the strength of 2018, prompting me to immediately write “wow, serious juice!” along with packed, concentrated, bold, and dark yet bright and vibrant. That became the theme for the entire tasting: Pinots that first show boldness, darkness, concentration, then show you how bright, vibrant and downright gorgeous they are. Get ready!

From Mo: “Memoirs is my fond personal tribute to my family. This year’s label features a picture of my brother Moueness who unexpectedly passed away this year. He will be missed. Wish you all good health.

A dark and sultry nose leads to a similar impression of flavors, and a feel that's concentrated, dense, more layered and built. A churning excitement builds and brightens and I'm left with a mouth-coating, velvety, savory, sailing finish.

We don't want to bombard you with wines and notes, nor did I want to say "also available." But, Ayoub ??? and Brittan Vineyard Pinot noirs are available and amazing, too, as is Mo's 2018 Chardonnay. They are equally amazing but a guy's gotta choose his favorites.
