How much more praise can we heap on Soos Creek? After tasting these two Cabs, it turns out the answer is a bunch!
A winery with a 30-year track record, sourcing fruit from Washington's best vineyards, making incredible wines and maintaining unmatched value--that's Soos Creek. They've been some of our favorites and yours for 15 years.

A phenomenal achievement in a winemaking career that remains so ridiculously under-the-radar, 2016 is the single most attractive Soos Creek Ciel du Cheval I have tasted, and that spans a lot of vintages! On day one (yesterday) it's so wonderfully luscious and velvety smooth, rolling out a telltale (and delicious!) combo of dark raspberry, black cherry and black currant with a pinch of dark chocolate; it's so good! Day two (today, yup, this morning) the gorgeous fruit purity, old vine pedigree, and freshness is all there plus accents of graphite, Red Mountain soil, and subtle tannins. It has a kingly stature defined by its balance, not by its bigness. We have only 7 cases so maybe I shouldn't gush so much but what the hell, the wine deserves it.
Ciel du Cheval Vineyard is, without question, one of the actual handful of best vineyards in Washington. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, entirely from the coveted 1982 block, plus 5% Merlot, aged almost entirely in once-used French oak.

So much class, character, and elegance packed into a sub-$30 Cab...it must be Soos's Terrible Beauty. A redder Cab profile of raspberry and plum with tobacco and herb accents, this beauty is ready for enjoyment. - Marcus
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc sourced from Ciel du Cheval, Dineen, and Slide Mountain vineyards aged almost entirely in once and twice-used French oak barrels. The change in vineyard sources has produced a softer more elegant style for this vintage, similar to the first, 2012 vintage."
