Oregon Pinot Double-Feature Friday

Happy Friday! We spent last weekend gazing at the breathtaking vineyard, forest, and Coast Range mountain views of the Eola-Amity Hills. Smack in the middle of the view was the source of today's first featured wine: Zena Crown's Conifer 2018. Tasting it is like tasting Oregon—the bounty of cherries and berries, our signature fir trees, our fall mushrooms.

The second half of our Pinot double-feature is Soter's Estates Pinot noir 2019, which just grabbed Wine Spectator's special designation of "Highly Recommend." We happened to taste another bottle (we call it "research") and we fully concur. Cheers to the weekend!

$69.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($76.95 regular)

95 points Wine Spectator: "Offering verve and persistence, this Pinot is taut at first but slowly blooms into dynamic blueberry and black cherry flavors that are accented by forest floor and spice tea. Best from 2023 through 2031. 334 cases made."

Us: A bold fruit spectrum of reds, blues and purples, a lovely balancing beam of freshness, a welcoming toasty oak accent, Conifer '18 adds notes of walking in an Oregon Douglas fir forest in early fall, that sweet fir scent carrying you to your first harvest of chanterelle mushrooms.

$49.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($54.95 regular)

94 points Wine Spectator, Highly Recommended: "A wine with dimension and grace, this Pinot has tiers of raspberry, mineral and dusky spice that build expression and tension toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2030."

Us: The newest Pinot noir gem from Soter will stop you mid-sentence—it's that impressive, that commanding. Beautiful red and blue fruit intensity with mouthwatering verve and balance. Our favorite Soter Pinot noir in many years.
