The more words we write up here the more we detract from the meat and potatoes of this offer: the next-level Pinot that is Goodfellow's Fir Crest Block Eight. It's a genius wine from a genius winemaker–all the intellectual complexities we love about Goodfellow wines plus, boy, it's an absolute pleasure to smell and drink. So no more waiting, here it is:
$45.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($51.95 regular)
Us: This is next-level Pinot. As fascinatingly complex as it is welcoming, while I'm writing I realize it's been 5 minutes since I had my last taste and the flavors are still dancing on my palate. A rainbow of tones, from red to blue to purple, even orange, with floral and herb highlights and a composition that's bold and energetic within the magnificently elegant Goodfellow house style. Like I said, next-level.
95+ points Wine Advocate: "Gregarious, inviting aromas of blackberries and black cherries, cured meats, crushed bay leaves, dried flowers and woodsmoke. The medium-bodied palate is generously fruited, with a grainy, seamlessly fresh frame and long, earth-laced finish. I love how much flavor is packed into this modest frame! It has the ability to age well in the cellar, so give it a few years in bottle."
Plus this lovely new number, combining two of our favorite things about the Willamette Valley!
$35.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($39.95 regular)
Us: Goodfellow + Temperance Hill = two of our favorite things about Willamette Valley Pinot joining forces to create an ethereal, cool, nervy Pinot noir singing with bright red fruits and a classic Temperance Hill cedar note. Add an Amaro-like element through the finish and we're ready for a party.
94 points Wine Advocate: Layered and savory, with pure tobacco and Early Grey tea leaves, licorice and bright red berries on the nose. The palate is soft, seamlessly fresh and delicately styled, offering an array of pure spicy flavors and a very long, uplifted finish."
