New Wine Spectator WA Cab Scores

We sell most of our wine based on our personal recommendations and reviews but we sure do like seeing our winery friends get great scores. Yesterday, Wine Spectator Insider featured Washington Cabernets and we were stoked to see two of our longtime favoritesGorman and Owen Roeand a newer favorite, Force Majeure, light up the page with glowing reviews. Combined with our stamp of approval, these will satisfy all your Cabernet cravings. Get cracking!

$33.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($37.95 regular)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Brooding in structure yet lively, with red currant, orange peel and sandalwood accents that build tension toward medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2030."

Us: Exactly what we expect from Gorman and from Old Scratch Cab, which is a big, bold, velvety devil packed with more intensity than you can expect for the price.

$118.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($129.95 regular)

95 points Wine Spectator: "Impressive for its richness and deep structure, this red screams Red Mountain, offering compelling blackberry, crushed rock and espresso tones that build tension toward firm tannins. Best from 2022 through 2031."

Us: This is incredible Cabernet. The fine structure is expertly woven into the sumptuously black-fruited fabric of the wine. Winemaker Todd Alexander cut his teeth making Cabernet for Bryant Family in Napa; his expertise is on full display here and I have no quarrel with drinking this now nor with suggesting it will age for 30 years.

$39.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($43.95 regular)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Detailed and refined, with handsomely structured blackberry, coffee bean and black tea flavors that build tension toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2028."

Us: A blend of Owen Roe's top sites in the Yakima Valley, this exemplifies the style that made Owen Roe an Avalon customer favorite almost two decades ago. They're still making great juice, like this!
