New Highly Rated Oregon Chardonnays: 94, 95 points

No surprise here: Oregon Chardonnay continues to shine on the world stage. Vinous published a very flattering report featuring dozens of high-scoring Oregon Chardonnays and this compliment: "What's exciting about the best Oregon Chardonnays is their ability to marry fruity exuberance with energy and precision in the manner of textbook white Burgundies." It's what we've been saying for years!

We've selected one of the best values in the Vinous report to stand alongside a stunning Chardonnay from Evening Land, which we tasted last week and are still day-dreaming about.

Roserock by Drouhin Chardonnay 2015
$29.65 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($32.95 regular)
94 points Vinous: "Intense, mineral-inflected orchard and pit fruit, lavender and buttered toast aromas are complicated by oyster shell, fennel and vanilla nuances. Concentrated yet nervy and light on its feet, offering palate-staining, oak-kissed pear nectar, Meyer lemon and candied ginger flavors underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. Shows superb energy and power on the floral-tinged finish, which hangs on with serious, mineral-driven tenacity."
Another winner from the Drouhin family's newest property, this generous, richly textured beauty delivers excellent Chard character at a solid value.

Evening Land Summum Chardonnay 2015
$89.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($99.95 regular)
95 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant, expressive and well-built, showing vivid apple and lemon verbena aromas, with polished, complex pear, crushed rock and sweet anise flavors that glide along the refined finish. Drink now through 2022. 201 cases made."
A stunning wine. Dynamic, complex, and textural, beautifully combining fruit and acidity, savory and mineral. The finish is tremendously long and subtly wonderful. It takes a lot to impress us and this did more than that. - Marcus
