New 95-point reviews for Walter Scott!

Four years running, we've referred to Walter Scott as Oregon's hottest winery. There's no cooling them down with another round of fantastic reviews.

The Prince of Pinot's PinotFile July newsletter includes a bunch of new reviews and -- no surprise at all to us -- Walter Scott is the tops. Clearly The Prince shares our good tastes; his two highest scoring wines, Sojourner Pinot and X Novo Chard, are our favorites for each grape.

As The Prince notes, "[Walter Scott] is the one Oregon winery that excels in offering the widest variety of vineyard-designated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from top-notch vineyards. Every wine in the lineup exemplifies the best that Oregon has to offer.

Walter Scott Sojourner Vineyard Pinot noir 2017
$49.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($54.95 regular)
95 points PinotFile: The aromas really draw you into the glass with a perfume of rose petal, muddled cherry, pomegranate and spice. Highly pleasurable from start to finish, offering mid weight flavors of black cherry, black raspberry and spice. Impeccable balance, with a dry, black cherry infused, bombastic finish. Wow!"
Us: The complete package. A serious wow. Our favorite of the Walter Scott '17s. Ken spoke of power, grace, and elegance -- we're in complete agreement -- and there's more. Sensual and rich, fresh and surging with electric Pinot vivacity, accentuated by savory, spice, and mineral threads, held together by expressive Oregon red berries. Wonderfully elegant while also superbly deep -- the essence of Walter Scott Pinot noir. - Marcus
Last call for these two beauties -- here today, gone tomorrow!

Walter Scott X Novo Chardonnay 2017
$58.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($64.95 regular)
95 points PinotFile: "Moderately light golden yellow color in the glass. An array of citrus fruit aromas are shadowed with a hint of flint. Rich and full on the palate, with fresh, juicy flavors of lemon, pineapple, tarte tatin and graphite. A sophisticated offering with a pleasing arrow of acidity and a lip smacking finish that seems to go on and on and on. A very special wine."
Us: The Goldilocks Chard of the line-up, it is the most luxurious and multi-spectrum. Distinct and beautifully textured Chardonnay, mixing mango and sweet tangerine with plump summer peach, adding an exotic pinch of lemongrass and ginger. The Chardonnay plantings are some of the most exciting and diverse on the West Coast, comprised of no less than fifteen clones. - Marcus

Walter Scott Temperance Hill Vineyard Pinot noir 2017
$58.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($64.95 regular)
The oldest vines in the cellar produced a classic Temperance Hill Pinot noir, a very (very!) close runner-up to the Sojourner in the favorite department. Ultra silkiness defines the 2017, which opens with rosemary and sage flower followed by explosive summer raspberry and all the savory complexities that make Temperance Hill unique. This held up incredibly well over five days (I might have liked it even more on the fifth day!); suffice it to say, this one's going to age. - Marcus

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thank you so much for supporting Oregon wine and for supporting us!
