New 2016 Pinot Gems: Lingua Franca

Lingua Franca wines are so exceptional that they've become one of our favorite Willamette Valley wineries in only two vintages. Here's where we point out how picky and opinionated we are when it comes to all Oregon wine, and especially to new producers: we are.

Lingua Franca's new reserve releases, from the spectacular 2016 vintage, are sure to become the customer favorites that their 2015 predecessors were. In our expert opinions, they are fantastic! You'll find reviews to match.

Lingua Franca Hope Well Pinot noir 2016

$53.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
($59.95 regular)
Our favorite Lingua Franca 2016 opens with a gorgeous, almost mysterious melange of rose, sultry-savory-spice tones, and pure Pinot perfume before showing off its layers of red fruits, from bright to dark. A study of how tension in wine is a beautiful thing, you will be enthralled by the interplay of energy and deliciousness moving gracefully from start to finish. From Mimi Casteel's thoughtfully, holistically interconnected Hope Well Vineyard, a source of vitality in the Valley. Not yet rated and nonetheless highly, enthusiastically recommended. - Marcus

A little more about Lingua Franca
Co-founded by wine icon Larry Stone, financial mastermind David Honig, and famed Burgundian Dominique Lafon, who makes some of the world's greatest white wines, the team established roots on a prime Eola-Amity Hills site. They were joined by our good friend Thomas Savre, one of the brightest young voices in Oregon who we came to know as assistant winemaker at Evening Land and who previously worked in the cellar and vineyard of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, the pinnacle of Pinot noir on the planet. Together, the Lingua Franca team has quickly established itself as a go-to producer of Willamette Valley wine.

We're looking forward to helping you with an order. Thanks for your support!
