Load. Up: Hundred Suns Shatter Their Own High Standards

You know we are unabashed, fully biased fans of Hundred Suns. If you've either tasted Grant and Renee's wines or met them, you likely share the love.

So we'll keep this short, incredibly sweet, and directly to the point: this brand new trio of Hundred Suns wines shatters the very high standards we already had for them. Each wine is infused with so much beautiful energy. We strongly (strongly!) encourage you to read below and then to load up. Hint: while it is listed second, the Chardonnay deserves extra-special attention. Load. Up.

Hundred Suns Old Eight Cut Pinot noir 2021
$33.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($35.95 regular)

Us: Deep flavor, silky texture, complexity and balance. This IS Grant's winemaking vision—a layered wine of great complexity that is, first and foremost, totally delicious! Gorgeous red fruit intensity for days, fantastic feel.

Grant and Renee: Fresh Rainier cherries and vibrant strawberry form a juicy mid-palette wrapped with layers of tea leaf, citrus rind, and complex spice. Beautifully balanced acid and structure make this wine punch way above its pay grade.

Hundred Suns Old Eight Cut Chardonnay 2021

$33.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($35.95 regular)

Us: Perfect Willamette Valley Chardonnay, for our tastes. And we mean perfect. Mindmelting, mouthwatering, fabulous richness teeter-tottering with vivacious acidity. So exceptionally delicious that we honestly can't imagine any Chardonnay drinker loving it any less than we do. Liquid gold.

Grant and Renee: Layers of brioche, pear, and lemon bar with delicate richness and tense acidity. A blend of Koosah, Lone Feather, and 3 Cedars vineyards.

Hundred Suns Willamette Valley Gamay noir 2021

$33.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case order ($35.95 regular)

Us: Our favorite Willamette Valley Gamay in years! The aromas will grab you, pull you in, stop you from asking "what's Gamay?" if you're not already a Gamay fan. Juicy and bright up front, building depth and signature "crunchy" snap through the finish. Such a fun, easy-to-love red.

Grant and Renee: The Gamay fruit was divided into three fermentation lots: 1) 100% whole cluster, carbonic, 2) fully destemmed and 3) 100% whole cluster with foot crushing. After fermentation they were aged in neutral oak and amphora for 11 months. The three components are wildly different with portions lending bright cranberry fruit and silky tannins while others create rich blueberry flavors with cocoa-like tannins.
