It's party time here. Throwing a dinner party for a bunch of red wine fans and want a wine that drinks $50 but costs $25? Grab Sheridan's Mystique.
Want to party Marcus and Andy style? Bust out a magnum of L'Orage 2014 and then things really get cooking. We predicted L'Orage would get a huge score (it did, 96 points!) and sold out of 750s before the review was published. We've been offered some mags from the winery and trust us, these are tailor made for future good times!Sheridan Vineyard Mystique 2015
$22.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order
94 points Wine Advocate, Party Time!: "A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Mystique is killer wine! Its deep ruby/purplish color is followed by notes of blackcurrants, white chocolate, wood smoke and tobacco. Deep, plush and opulent on the palate, with silky texture, drink this hedonistic, yet perfectly balanced beauty over the coming decade or so."
Explosive aromatics, very complex and lush, out-classing its peers in texture and frankly, pretty much everything else. Back up the truck and load up by the case! - Marcus
Boom, bust out a magnum!Sheridan L'Orage Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 1.5L
$116.95 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($129.95 regular)
96 points Wine Advocate, the best L'Orage to date: "a seriously good, hedonistic, pleasure bent beauty that does everything right. Cassis, leafy herbs, smoke tobacco, lead pencil shavings and incense notes all give way to a full-bodied, decadent, sexy red that has the concentration and depth to keep for 10-15 years. It tastes like a blend of Pontet Canet and Shafer Hillside Select."
2014 is the 14th vintage of L'Orage I've tasted. Unequivocally, with zero exaggeration, the single best L'Orage is the 2014. Unparalleled in its sexiness and velvety rich texture, the beautifully supple layers of black and red fruits, purple flowers, a finish that fans out with creamy mocha, tobacco and licorice. As impossible as it is to resist today, it's every bit as good after being open for twenty four hours, which bodes well for its age worthiness. I will be stunned if this doesn't receive a massive score (fast forward using my wine review time machine -- it did!) but you know what? It won't matter, because I guarantee you will love it. - MarcusSheridan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
$22.45 in any 12 bottle or Build a Case* order ($24.95 regular)
93 points Wine Advocate: "The base 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is another deep purple/ruby colored red from Scott that has considerable elegance in its creme de cassis, lead pencil, toasted bread and black raspberry scented bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, silky and polished on the palate, with terrific purity, it's another gem to drink over the coming decade."
A huge step up from previous vintages, this rocking value Cab is a joy to drink. - Marcus
