Whether it's Saturday or Tuesday, we all need is a couple perfect everyday Italian reds. And wow, have we found two: one from Tuscany, one from Sicily. Incredible values, each loaded with far more character than their prices would indicate.
A wine that blew me away on a warm September morning outside of Montepulciano. I've had to wait months for its arrival, all the while hoping that it wasn't just the amazing experience that spoke to me so strongly. Not one bit -- in fact, it's every bit as impressive! Crushed cherries and plums, a hint of violets and spices, all evoking the warm Montepulciano countryside. A perfect pair for any pasta dish, roast, or like me, when you're simply craving a great glass of Italian red. 90% Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese), 5% each Mammolo and Canaiolo. - Marcus
The fact that "Nerojbleo" is tough to pronounce didn't stop the 2013 Nerojbleo from being our top selling Italian value of 2018 (and early 2019), with dozens of re-orders and messages of thanks for the introduction to this winner after -- and sometimes during -- the first bottle tasted! The word on the street was that the 2015 was even better, and we didn't believe it until we tasted. Better! Like the most delicious blueberry pie, rich and smooth in texture with an excellent, surging freshness. Pop-and-pour goodness like this doesn't come around often enough. 100% Nero d'Avola, made from certified organic grapes. Spaghetti with homemade marinara (with or without meatballs), pizza, all-day-long sipping pleasure. - Marcus

Some wines speak to the past, some are here and now, others offer glimpses at how the Willamette Valley might evolve. Only one winery encompasses it all–storied past, delicious present, thrilling future: Eyrie.
